3.1 Data Flow Overview
The Moonner Crypto Tracker provides a seamless data flow experience, intricately connecting the Investment, Portfolio, Trading USD, and Trading BTC modules. This integrated ecosystem ensures that every action and input from the user is appropriately logged, analyzed, and reflected in the user's investment performance. Here is a summary of this data flow:
Investment Entry: The user initiates their crypto journey by inputting their investment amount in the Investment tab. This value, irrespective of the currency initially used, is converted into USDT and transferred into a virtual wallet within the Portfolio module.
Crypto Acquisition: The user can utilize the funds in their virtual wallet to acquire crypto assets using the Trading USD module. The details of these transactions are reflected in the Portfolio module.
Portfolio Updates: If a newly acquired asset is not already listed in the Portfolio module, the user must add it. This is done by using the dropdown menu at the bottom left corner of the Portfolio sheet. Excel automatically creates a new row and attempts to fetch the asset's logo from the Logos module.
Logo Management: If a logo for a new asset isn't available, the user is directed to source it from a website such as Coinmarket Cap and insert it into the designated area. Once the logo is inserted and updated, it gets associated with the corresponding asset row in the Logo cell.
Asset Management: With the asset added and its logo updated, the user can proceed back to the Trading USD module to finalize the acquisition details.
Portfolio Overview: Once the acquisition details are entered, the user can return to the Portfolio module. Here, they can view a comprehensive snapshot of their assets, including quantity, current price, gain/loss, and other pertinent details.
Bitcoin Trading Pairs: For those interested in Bitcoin trading pairs, the Trading BTC tab operates similarly to the Trading USD tab, catering to both acquisitions and disposals.
Refresh for Updated Data: The Portfolio sheet includes a refresh button, ensuring that users always have access to up-to-date market prices and data, empowering them to make informed investment decisions.
By understanding and following this data flow, users can effectively track their investments, manage their assets, and maximize their potential returns in the ever-evolving crypto market.
Here's the general flow:
The user uses the Investment tab to insert the invested value.
This value is converted from the inputted currency into USD.
The USD value is transferred into a virtual wallet (USDT) in the Portfolio module.
The user can then use these funds in the Trading USD tab to acquire crypto assets.
The crypto assets acquired in the Trading USD tab will be presented in the Portfolio module.
If the acquired asset doesn't already exist in the Portfolio module, it will need to be added there first before proceeding to the Trading USD module.
Users can add an asset in the Portfolio sheet by navigating to the left bottom corner of the Portfolio sheet and using the dropdown to search and click the add button.
Excel will then create a new row automatically and search for a logo in the Logos module.
If the logo is not found, the user will be prompted to download a logo from a website like Coinmarket cap and insert the logo into the designated area.
After the logo is inserted, the user can click the update button to load the new logo into the newly added asset row in the Logo cell.
The asset is now added, the user can now proceed to the Trading USD tab to insert acquisition details.
After the acquisition details are inserted in the Trading USD tab, the user can go back to the Portfolio sheet and see all data, including quantity, current price, Gain/Loss, and other details next to the asset name.
Users may also decide to use the Trading BTC tab for Bitcoin trading pairs. Trading BTC will work in the same way as Trading USD, for both Acquisition and Disposals.
The Portfolio sheet also consists of a big refresh button to update Prices
